Key functions:

The keys have different functions depending on the activity.

A: In standby mode (standby is shown on the display):

  • The arrow keys move the Pushrod in and out, holding down the key makes it go faster and faster.

  • M key will activate the menu.

  • A key activates the Autopilot = Auto mode.

B: In Auto mode (green led on, 2 headings visible):

  • The Arrow Keys change course by a single press will do 1 degree, when kept pressing, first 5 degrees second 10 degrees each second till a maximum of 100 degrees.

  • M key will activate the menu.

  • A key deactivates the Autopilot = Standby mode

C: In Menu:

  • Up and Down with the Arrow Keys

  • M key is select and activate

  • A key returns to the home screen

Functions in the menu:

Tack Mode:

Press M and the first function will be selected in the menu, by default it is Tack, pressing M again selects the Tack function .

You will automatically return to the home screen and the green LED will flash to indicate that you are in the tack mode.

You can now tack as many times as you wish with the arrow keys, to exit the tack modes press A twice.

The tack settings can be adjusted in the webinterface on the Profile page.

Mode - Heading source:

Go in the menu select mode and select the desired and available Heading source.

Depending on the available data, you can choose a heading based on Compass, GPS (COG), Wind (apparent) and True wind. After selecting with M, return to the main screen by pressing A.

The square is around the selected mode C=Compass, G=GPS, W=Apparent wind, T=True wind.

Profile:

You can choose your steering profiles, you can ad profiles with the webinterface.

Backlight:

Select with M, with the arrow keys you can dim or brighten the screen.

This function simultaneously adjusts the brightness of the green LED visible in Auto mode.

Wifi :

If you have set the autopilot to Wifi Client mode and can therefore no longer reach the web interface, you can restore the default Pypilot WiFi access point with the instructions below:

Selecting Settings in the menu, select control, select wifi and then select defaults by pressing M. Now press A to return to the home display.

After a few moments the wifi access point pypilot will become available again.

Contrast:

Go to Settings in the Menu, select display and then select contrast.

You can adjust the contrast with the arrow keys, then confirm the setting with M so that it is saved permanently.

You better use the webinterface to alter the other functions in the menu.
