# Control
Below you will find more information about operating the Autopilot via the web interface:

**Tip 2: Would you like more information about a feature or setting?**
Click the -icon at the top. After that, a blue -icon will appear next to each feature / setting. By clicking this blue -icon, you will see detailed information about the corresponding feature / setting.

## Auto / Standby-mode
In **Standby mode**, you can manually steer the boat in the desired direction using the arrow buttons.\
The amount of rudder movement per press can be adjusted on the [Configuration](https://pcnautic.gitbook.io/autopilot/operate/web-interface-apps/configuration) page.
In **Auto mode**, the function of the arrow buttons changes:\
Each press adjusts the heading by the number of degrees shown.
By clicking "Autopilot", you activate Auto mode (heading hold).\
The text will then change to "Standby".\
\
Clicking "Standby" will deactivate the Autopilot and switch the system back to manual steering.
## Heading / Target
In Auto mode, *Heading* is the current course you are sailing, and *Target* is the set course.
## Heading source (mode)
**Mode**: Click on ‘C - Compass Heading’ in the top-left corner to open the mode menu, where you can select the desired heading source. The available options may vary depending on the availability of the sources.
## Profiles
**Profile:** By clicking on 'default' at the top right, the profile menu opens where you can choose from the [profiles you have configured](https://pcnautic.gitbook.io/autopilot/operate/web-interface-apps/profiles).
## Tack mode
By clicking on 'Tack mode' you activate the tacking functionality, after which Tacking mode starts flashing in green. (the green LED on the Controlhead then flashes)
You can initiate a tack by clicking one of the **Tack** buttons.\
If wind data is available, the Tack button will only appear next to the correct direction arrow (into the wind).\
If you want to turn the other way (away from the wind), you can gybe by clicking the opposite arrow.
Tack mode remains active until you click "Tack mode off".
Specific tack settings can be adjusted in the selected Profile, allowing you to tailor the autopilot’s behavior to current conditions:
* **In light wind** with full sails: slow and wide tacks
* **In strong wind** with reefed sails: more powerful and faster tacks
By using different profiles, you can easily switch between configurations that match the weather and your sail setup.
## Display options
By clicking on the mobile symbol  at the top left you get a simplified view of the Control page without the compass rose, this can be useful if you have a small screen or want to reduce the window, by clicking on the compass symbol you get the extended view back again.
Full screen function
Opens the menu:
-icon will appear next to each feature / setting. By clicking this blue
