# Web Interface / Apps

## **The Web Interface – The Core of the System**

The Pcnautic Autopilot is built around an integrated web interface.\
All operation, configuration, and calibration are performed through this web interface.

The Pcnautic apps and shortcuts provide convenient and user-friendly access to this web interface.

{% hint style="info" %}
All apps and shortcuts use the same integrated web interface.\
A WiFi connection to the Autopilot is required.
{% endhint %}

## Connect to the Autopilot’s WiFi network.

The Autopilot automatically creates its own WiFi network.\
On your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC, search for available networks and select:\
`pcnautic_AP`

<figure><img src="/files/lXA2ljirPcSx6vnwLaXx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

No password is required unless you have set one previously.

{% hint style="danger" %}
We strongly recommend changing the network name (SSID) and password.\
Default settings make your system vulnerable to unauthorized access.\
You can change them under [WiFi / Network Config](/autopilot/operate/web-interface-apps/wifi-network-config.md).
{% endhint %}

## **Use the Pcnautic Autopilot App**

For optimal operation and configuration, use the Pcnautic Autopilot App.\
It is available for a wide range of devices and platforms.

The overview below shows the supported apps and integrations.

### 📱Smartphone / tablet

The Pcnautic Autopilot App is available for both **Android** and **iOS** and is recommended for the best user experience.

#### Windows

In this mode, the web interface opens without an address bar or unnecessary browser buttons, providing a clean and stable operating environment.

The easiest way to set this up is by using the [Windows Installer](/autopilot/operate/web-interface-apps/maintenance.md#windows). This installer automatically places a shortcut on your desktop. When you use this shortcut, the browser launches directly in app mode with a direct connection to the Pcnautic Autopilot web interface.

This provides a user experience comparable to a standalone application.

#### macOS

On modern Macs with Apple Silicon (M-series), it is possible to run iPhone and iPad apps directly on macOS. The Pcnautic Autopilot App then functions as a full desktop application, offering the same interface and functionality as on iPad.

**Advantages of using the iOS app on macOS:**

* Full-screen operation without a browser interface
* Faster startup time
* Direct and stable connection to the Autopilot
* Identical controls and display as on iPad

#### **Alternative: Directly via Web Browser**

Launch a browser like Chrome or Safari and go to the web page: `192.168.14.1`

<figure><img src="/files/rV8a5oPXBPwKwWJiRbNw" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can now control the autopilot via the web interface using any smartphone, tablet, laptop, or PC.\
The web interface offers a wide range of settings and calibration options.

{% hint style="danger" %}
We recommend only changing settings if you are certain of their function.\
Incorrect adjustments may affect the performance of the system.
{% endhint %}

## **Create a Desktop Shortcut (Chrome)**

Quickly access the web interface as if it were an app:

1. Open **Google Chrome** and go to `192.168.14.1`
2. Click the three dots (⋮) in the top-right corner
3. Go to **More tools**
4. Select **Create shortcut...**
5. Give the shortcut a name, e.g. “Pcnautic Autopilot”, and optionally check *“Open as window”*
6. Click **Create**

You’ll now find an “Pcnautic Autopilot” icon on your desktop. Clicking it will open the web interface directly, without having to type the address again.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://pcnautic.gitbook.io/autopilot/operate/web-interface-apps.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
