Maintenance TillerDrive:

Lubricating the Stainless Steel Rod

After every 24 hours of use, it is recommended to lightly lubricate the stainless steel rod with silicone grease. This is available at most hardware stores, often under the name "tap grease."

Corrosion Protection

The dark gray part of the TillerDrive can corrode when exposed to salt and moisture. After using the drive in saltwater, always rinse it thoroughly with fresh water. Store the drive in a dry, ventilated space. Never place the drive on damp materials, such as wet mooring lines in the cockpit locker.

Full Protection with Silicone Grease

You can coat the entire drive with silicone grease, provided it is clean and dry first. The silicone coating helps water to run off directly and makes it easy to wash off dirt and salt.
