Connecting a Simrad MFD via ethernet

  1. Enable the Autopilot’s ethernet DHCP server

    1. Open the Wifi / network config page.

    2. In Ethernet mode, choose 'DHCP Server' and click Submit.

  2. Physically connect the devices • Plug a standard ethernet cable from the Simrad MFD (e.g., NSS12 evo3) into the Autopilot’s ethernet USB adapter.

  3. Verify the IP lease • Refresh the Wifi / network config page • The Simrad’s hostname and IP address should appear under IP Leases.

  4. Add the Simrad as an NMEA data client

    1. On the Wifi / network config page enter the Simrad’s IP address and Port 10110.

    2. Click Submit.

  5. Connection is established The Autopilot now should receive NMEA 0183 sentences.

Limitation: Simrad MFDs transmit NMEA 0183 over Ethernet but do not accept incoming NMEA 0183 data.
